My first guess would be that some “helping” measures are not included in Measure Numbering (Layout).

There is nothing wrong with having some measures not included in Measure Numbering.

But it means that the (real) “Actual” measure numbers are different from the (layout) “Defined” measure numbers.

What you can do:

1) Preferences - View > Measure Numbers

Select the option {Display Actual Measure Numbers}.

NB: This is a program setting; it affects the measure number display in Finale’s dialog boxes.

It will not affect the layout.

2) To see a measure’s Actual measure number:

Measure Tool.

Double-click the measure.

3) When you define the Playback of repeats, use the Actual measure numbers - not the Defined (layout) measure numbers.

I tried this and, even though the numbers changed, it still insists on DS'ing back to one bar before where it should go, and the coda jumps to the fourth measure into the coda.  Thanks.

I trust you realize how difficult it can be to diagnose something blindly with nothing to look at.

To find the culprit we really need a (small) Finale sample document to examine.

Even a document without any notes in it would do - since we only need to examine the repeat playback path.

Unfortunately you can not attach a Finale document in this forum.

However, you can upload the Finale document elsewhere, and then here add a link to the document.
