MacOS 10.14.6, Finale v26

I have been using Finale for decades, and these are things that have always bugged me. I'm sure there are answers to these, I've just never been able to find them.

  1. Is there a way to put the "cursor" in a measure without adding a note? I always either have to enter a note, then immediately delete it, or start somewhere and use the command-arrow combination to scroll to where I want to do some editing.
  2. Is there a way to set Finale so when you finish the last bar of music, it DOESN'T add another measure?

I know, it's a tiny hassle, but after years of unnecessary deleting, it's getting on my nerves.

1. Option-click on the measure/staff.

2. Simple menu > Simple Entry Options…

De-select {Create New Measures}.

So simple. Thank you so much! I guess I've gotten so used to it that I didn't think of the simplest solutions. That "fill with rests" option is also one I want to fuss with.
