Just this afternoon, my computer was updated from Finale version 25.5 to version 26. In verifying that a recently created score was working properly, I have determined that under Texts, I have a font that appears NOT to have loaded properly. I need the entire font for Finale Percussion. I work  with pitched percussion, specifically with handbells, and those needed notation characters are missing.  I recently phoned your help desk with this problem under version 25, and wound up overwriting/reinstalling version 25 software, thereby gaining the needed font. I used it to complete creation on the same score I just used for verification purposes.

Having just purchased and installed level 26, I had expected to find a properly installed font.  It's a bit daunting to have to reinstall the entire update once again just to gain a corrected font.  Are the text fonts themselves available for individual downloading?

First, this forum is populated mostly by users like you. Second, you never mentioned the font name or your computer operating system (and version), so that makes helping you a little difficult.

Thank you very much for responding to me so quickly.  Let's share more:

A) My PC operating software is Windows 7-Pro. Changing it is not an option; too many other programs would be adversely affected.

B) Under Finale, to enter pitched percussion notation, select TEXTS. Use the Texts Drop-down menu; the first option listed is for Fonts. Select that, and you will get a drop-box menu, which lists as a font, Finale Percussion. Finale treats percussion symbols, including pitched percussion symbols, as a font --- that is, unless they have changed it with level 26? --- and that font is, indeed, named Finale Percussion.

C) When you are working within a score to add pitched percussion notation, your path is under the Texts Drop-down menu.  Use the Drop-down to select Inserts> Symbol to gain access to a table of Symbols -- including percussion markings. My Symbols table is incomplete.

So, I now have two questions:

1.  Has Finale removed pitched percussion notation from the table to handle it differently?  If so, how do I access it now?

2.  Are the fonts themselves available for individual downloading?

Best Regards,

Okay, I find I have Finale Percussion on my machine, but then I still have Petrucci as well, so I cannot say whether this was included by Finale v26.

The date of the file in Properties is August 2018. Is that when v26 was released?
