Mac OSX  High Sierra . Finale 26.2.2.493

 

I cannot seem to record into layer 2 without Finale freezing. 

I am attempting to add a counter melody on  layer 2 . I have all the main melody successfully recorded into layer 1 . 

 

Spent over an hour looking thru the manual , but no solution yet . AAARgh , going crazy here .  Can any one help at all .  Many thanks .

Have you opened a support ticket? Use the Submit a Request tab at the top of the page.

 

How are you recording? Instrument? Vocal?

 

Have you tried recording your counter melody into another staff, in layer 1? If that works, you can move that layer to layer 2, and merge them into your original staff.

Hi Mike . Thanks so much for your reply. I will try what you suggest tomorrow morning and see if that works as a work around.

Hey Mike , 

You're a star buddy , I just did exactly what you said and I managed to get the counter melody to appear on same staff , along with the main melody . Brilliant , Can't thank you enough , I know for next time how to achieve this . All the very best .
