Hello all!

Thank you in advance for your help. Finale 26.3.0.634 on Mac

What happens: 

-I select Chord Symbol tool

-I select the note I want to put the chord over by clicking it

-the flashing cursor appears above the note

-I type in the chord symbol

-I hit shift+R arrow to move to next beat OR tab to move to next measure and the chord symbol drops to the last system on the page. 

-when I scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the chord symbol, it shows that it is linked to the note I added it to in the first system by the dotted blue line, but the line goes all the way from the bottom system to the top. 

-it doesn't do this at the beginning of the document, but seems to maybe be doing it in the measures that I had to add to the piece

 

Any thoughts?

Why not just hit the spacebar to move to the next beat?

 

Have you restarted the computer since this behavior started?

Hi Mike! I have seen your face in so many helpful posts and have been using your answers. Thank you so much for your help to this community! 

I had tried restarting the computer actually as a result of a post of yours on a different topic and that didn't solve the problem in this case, but after some Edit Undo, I went back and tried using space bar to move between the chord symbols and IT WORKED!
