Mac 10.16.3, Finale v26
Doing an orchestration in which the vocal line is in 2/4 and the instrumentation is in 6/8. Can I select 2/4 for the vocal line and 6/8 for everything else or do I need to notatethe vocal line in 6/8 and make duplets?
With the Time Signature Tool, set the “over all” time signature to 6/8.
Staff Tool.
For the staff with the vocal line, in the Staff Attributes, in the pane Independent Elements, select Time Signature.
Return to the Time Signature Tool, and now you can change the time signature for the vocal line staff only.
The other staves will remain in their “over all” 6/8 time signature.
