MacOS 10.23.6 Finale version 26.3.0.63 Keyboard is M Audio Keystation MINI32 MK3 Folks: I’m new at this. After much tweaking of Finale settings I can now hear notes when I play them on midi keyboard (note: GarageBand worked/works fine with my MIDI keyboard). My goal is to play notes on my MIDI keyboard and have the notes populate on the score. I am transcribing my handwritten music scores and was hoping Finale could accommodate this input method; but so far no go. Suggestions are appreciated! Thank you, Howard in Virginia.

I would suggest you learn either Simple or Speedy Entry. Both can be used with a MIDI keyboard.

 

If you are trying to use Hyperscribe, to actually play your pieces in, see my first suggestion.
