Hello everyone,

I'll try to provide as much information as I can. I am running Garritan Personal Orchestra 5 on Windows 10 64bit OS. I have been digging through forums for months and I can't seem to figure out why I am only able to play the first instrument in an ensemble. I am using an M-Audio Keystation 49e as my controller. I am not incredibly versed in MIDI setup so I imagine the problem is occurring there somewhere. The example I've been using is the String Quartet ensemble (Violin1, Violin 2, Viola, Cello). I have tried changing the Outputs on each instrument (1/2, 3/4, etc) and toggled the Channels to match those indications in the Aria Player settings with no luck. I even tried to load instances of MIDI Out on the FL Studio Channel Rack and attach the channels there to the channels in Aria Player. I feel like I'm missing something vital because no matter what I do, it only plays the Violin 1 in Channel 1. I would love some help because I'm this close to smashing my head into the wall haha. I'm happy to post any screenshots of anything that might help anyone to identify the problem.

You're using the standalone ARIA app, and playing directly into it from a keyboard? Keyboards usually play just one MIDI channel at a time, (by default channel 1), so it's to be expected that MIDI info coming in on ch1 will only play the first instrument.

The outputs in ARIA are the audio output channels, not MIDI input channels. You'll need to change the MIDI channel to 1 on all the instruments, which is the last number on the right-hand side of the grey box.

Hello Ben,

Thank you for reaching out to help. I apologize if I wasn't clear enough. I am running Aria as a VST in FL Studio 20. Changing the MIDI channels all to Channel 1 creates a new problem. I can hear, for example, the cello when I activate the fourth slot if I start at the bottom of its range. But once I get through the first octave, I begin to hear all the other instruments playing simultaneously with the cello. The same thing occurs with the other instruments. If I choose the violin in the first slot, all four of the instruments play in unison with the violin. I'm not sure how to get them each to play by themselves.

Ah, yes: if youre in a DAW, ignore what I said. Are you using the VST3 plug-in, or (one of) the VST2 plug-ins?

The VST3 plug-in only receives on one MIDI channel: the others can accept more channels. If you are using the VST3 plug-in, then you'll need one separate plug-in for each different instrument, sending to channel 1 on each.
