Windows 10 Pro, Finale 26 Current   //  //  I also posted this on the Garritan side; please excuse my impatience :-)

I just purchased a custom-built computer and downloaded and installed Finale 26 to it.

I also downloaded and installed GPO4 and then GPO5, in that order.

Finale default instruments, SmartMusic SoftSynth, and GPO5 show up in the Device List in Score Manager, but not GPO4.

I found a thread that is four years old that addresses this, but nothing current. I did "Manage VST Plug-in Directories" and found the VST2 folder with Garritan, but to no avail.

I also did Restart a few times, and did apply the Keycards to ARIA player for both GPO4 and GPO5, and I did try reinstalling GPO4 twice.

I did update ARIA Player to 1.959, but it is for ARIA Player x64. The (brown) ARIA player is v.09

Also, when I open Aria Player by itself, I get an error message, "Check Preferences. Maybe the current driver doesn't support this sample rate."
The sample was preset to 44199Hz

Any current ideas?

Thank you,
:-)

I can open Aria Player VST_x64 and load GPO (which is what GPO4 is called internally) into the player and play instruments from it.

I never use the VST_x86 players in Windows 10 (64-bit), and I only use the Multi VST_x64 player inside Dorico to send different slots to different output channel in the Dorico Mixer.

I have the same Player version you do and have the 1.967 version of the engine.

The GPO4 installer loads an out-of-date version of the Aria Player (the brown one). I got rid of it. IIRC Garritan claims not to support GPO4 any more, but that may affect Mac users more than Windows 10 users. (I find I do still have GPO on my Catalina Macbook Pro from 2012.)

Hi Adrian,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I did get the antiquated ARIA player, and updated it to v1.9 (see above).

In the screenshot, one can see for ARIA Instruments: Finale Default Bank, GPO, and Personal Orchestra 5.
So, I guess GPO--in this case--is GPO4.

The problem remains the same, however, and that is GPO4 does not load in Finale -- see this screenshot:

...and that is what I am trying to fix--getting GPO4 to load within Finale.

Help!?  ;-)

Hi J Adrian,

Thank you for the great tip. Once I got to the page it looked familiar--I remember, now, that I had to do this before.

BTW--the instructions for Finale (26)  worked.
