Hi. My system: Mac Pro desktop, macOS Catalina version 10.15.7.
I use, among other libraries, GPO5 in Logic Pro X, version 10.6.0. When I save a template in Logic, with different 1st Violins (different ways to play the instrument), and save the template, then when I open for creating a new project, the template opens without instruments......
I really hope someone can help me with this issue.
Thanks

Are you saying that the problem only occurs when you change the violins, but doesn't otherwise happen? Which Violin samples are you using (e.g. GOS 22-string Sustains, Violins 1 KS, etc)?

A quick test shows that I can assign Violins in ARIA, save as a template and create a new document, and the Violins are preserved.

Thanks..... In this case i used Violin 1 Plr1, Violin 1 Plr2 etc.... in 15 instances. I believe the problem is when I refer to "the template", it's the template I save in Logic. In that case the instruments disappear. I've just discovered that I should save the templates in the proper ARIA Player. I never did that. Probably that is the reason.

That's certainly a workaround (and useful for setting up other documents), but saving the Logic file as a template should preserve the contents of ARIA, without any need to save the ensemble in ARIA.

Presumably the player is 'on' and Blue in the control strip?

Presumably the player is 'on' and Blue in the control strip? That may be the case. Is that important? If so I've learned something new after all these years and I will check that and see what happens.
Thanks again......

I was just guessing that perhaps if the player is greyed out in a given strip, then Logic might not save the contents. I haven't tested it.

Ben, thanks for your help. The Mystery of the year:  I have 5 instances of GPO5 loaded for Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion, Strings ...... Now, the strings instruments sound half a tone higher than all other instruments. A BIG Mystery not yet solved! I have been asking a lot of people. That has happened all the time: It´s a huge problem to have to transpose the strings every time I am going to start to compose. If I play a D on the piano, for example, the Violins, Violas, Cellos and Basses sound all Eb!!!
It's a huge mystery yet to be solved in the world of GPO5.....

Usually, off by a semitone means that somewhere the sampling frequencies don't match: 48 kHz vs. 44.1 kHz. But it's rare for that to only affect strings!

I've been using GPO Strings in Logic this week, and all has been fine, so you should take comfort from the fact that this is a local problem that you can resolve, rather than a universal, regular, fixed problem that cannot be solved.
