PERCUSSION NOTATION

Last evening I spent an inordinate amount of time transferring pictographs from the Finale Percussion font into the miscellaneous section of the Expression Tool. I was under the impression that doing so would be a permanent addition. However, upon closing and opening another document they all disappeared. Is there ANY WAY to make those as permanent residents of the Expression Tool?

Save them as a library and import to whatever file you want.

Personally I would create a new category, pictographs, and move them to that category. Then save it as a library.

I'm sure that's a great answer, but I don't know how to do that. I guess I better hit the tutorials again. 75 years old and not the sharpest knife in the drawer. LOL

Dave, the reason it happened is that Expressions are Document-specific, not global. You could either follow Jeff's suggestion, which will let you load them as needed, or, do what you did, and save that document as a template.
