Hi everyone, hope all is well?

I'm having a problem after I attempted to move my Garritan CFX Concert Grand Piano, to my external SSD Drive. I'm doing this so my computer can run more smoothly, and I did this prior with my Spitfire plug ins which proved to be very simple.

So anyway, after deleting the CFX Sample library on my main HD, I've noticed that I can't use the piano anymore, as expected (the notes are greyed out). However, when I moved the sample library to my SSD, I noticed there wasn't an obvious way for the piano to point to the new samples (so of course it didn't work), unless there is something I'm missing?

I did more research on this website and with reading stuff about registration cards etc I started to freak out slightly that trying to move it to the SSD might count as a "second computer" or something, and use up the other download I'm entitled to.

So anyway, I moved the sample library back to the original place on my mac hoping it would start working again just like before, but now it doesn't.

Can anyone talk me through what just happened here and how to solve it? Right now I just want to have things back to normal, but I really want to try and avoid using up my second download! Surely there's a solution?

Thanks,

Aleks

I suggest that you contact support so they can give you exact steps to fix this problem.

As you've found out, you can't just move samples or any app really from one location to another.  You need to install it so everything points to the correct location.

Hey Jeffrey, thanks for getting back to me.

Yeah I emailed them before I posted this but it said because of the covid stuff it could potentially take a week for them to get back to me. Kind of need it resolved sooner, but I guess I'll have to wait it out then!

Cheers,

Aleks

Mac or Windows?

In either case, you have to start from the Aria Player and navigate to the new location. If you rerun the CFX installer, it should allow you to set the path to where you moved the libraries and this may also set the path so that Aria can find it but don't count on that.

With some players, after you find the libraries, you have reload them all into the player. SampleTank is like this. As my Aria libraries are in the default location, I don't recall for certain if Aria behaves the same way.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the response!

I'm using a Mac but it's actually been sorted now. Customer support responded quite speedily which was great, and in the end I just did a full re-installation and directed the samples to my SSD during this process. Now, next to moving my Orchestral Tools' Glory Days Big Band Samples.. or I might just give myself a break for a bit! haha

Have a great day,

Aleks
