Hey all!

One of the recent FL Studio updates allows the user to open FL as either a 32- or 64-bit single or multi-output VSTi inside of another DAW. I'm running the most recent versions of both FL and Finale 26 on Windows 10 64-bit, and am attempting to do so with only limited success. I can select FL as a VSTi on the Instrument List and open it successfully,  and access all the included features and plugins. I can assign notes to measures on the staff in Finale that is set to use FL as the sound source, and hitting play in Finale will play those notes back through whichever plugin/track is currently selected in FL. But what I would like to do is be able to compose electronic parts entirely within FL and have them play back, independent (or ideally in the absence) of any notation present in FL. Basically all I need is for the playback on the FL VSTi to sync with the playback and measure placement in Finale, and not need to notate anything in Finale to get the sounds I already have written in FL to play back.

Reading back this sounds like it makes no sense whatsoever, but I don't know how to explain it more simply.

EDIT: Made a video, hopefully this helps explain things a little better

Finale has limited VST support but it is not a DAW. I don't know FL Studio at all but you may have hit the limit of its capabilities.

I use Finale to control Digital Performer but cannot use DP to control Finale. It only seems to work one way — but that's fine with me, frankly.
