Hello again, Finale Music community,

Is it possible to incorporate two staffs in the same individual part score?

I came across a situation where, in the full score, I had to create two staves for my Percussionist III part, who doubles Tubular Bells with Glockenspiel. At one point, he or she has to play both percussion instruments at the same time, and so, I created a separate staff for Glockenspiel to appear only when it is played alongside the Tube Bells (meanwhile keeping the empty staff hidden in all other parts of the score).

 

 

Would it be possible to somehow incorporate this into the Perc. III's individual part score (which would be the Tubuluar Bells line)?

If I understand you correctly, you need a linked part (Percussionist III) containing two staves (Glockenspiel & Tubular Bells) - right?

 

Document menu > Manage Parts…

In the window Manage Parts, click the button {Edit Part Definition >>}, to expand the Manage Parts window.

Add both the Glockenspiel staff and the Tubular Bells staff to the Percussionist III part.

 

In the linked part you can use the Staff Tool to hide a staff where it has empty measures.
