Hi, all. I have puzzle I cannot solve. I have a file with very straightforward dynamic changes, but human playback is doing a terrible job with them. I am just not getting the result I (or any musician) would expect. I thought maybe there was some stray MIDI data in the file, but I deleted all MIDI data 3 times and still get the same result. I've also tried different HP styles. I've posted the Finale file as well as an mp3 of the playback I am getting. Any ideas?

Since you're over Big Sur, you might download the 27 Demo to see if your file behaves any differently. I'll look but I don't know if I'll see what you're looking for since I'm still running over Catalina. I will be able to open in 26 and 27 so that might tell us something.

Thanks, Mike. I actually did some more troubleshooting yesterday. It looks like the Steinway sound bundled with Finale is most of the problem, at least with this file which is an older one. I don’t remember this sound being an issue in the past. I tried using the version from GPO, and it sounds much better. I still wish that crescendos and diminuendos were more gradual though.
