I somehow set a lock on my score(  little pad lock symbol over a squashed and offset bar)  and it really messed my score.   It squashes three measures into the size of one, and this squashed space is like a physical fixed window:  if you try and insert anything in front of it, it does the insert in the sqashed space.   At any rate I did NOT intend setting on the score and I have to get rid of it. How can I do it?

You are using Mac Finale, right?

 

Selection Tool.

Click in the system, to select a measure in the system.

Hit the letter U key, to unlock the system.

 

(To lock a selected system, hit the letter L key)

Any time you move a measure or measures from one system to another by selecting a measure with the selection tool and pressing the up or down arrow, Finale automatically locks at least one of the systems.
