Hi all,

Yesterday I bought the Garritan CFX Grand Piano Full edition.
I followed the download and install instructions and that went ok.

In general the VST is working properly, however the Reverb functionality (that you can reach via the studio tab) is not.
I make sure the red light indicator is on, but switching to any reverb type does not change the sound in the slightest.
Also changing the knobs in the reverb area does not make any change.

What am I missing?
Any simple setting?
Do I need an update?

I start the VST stand-alone from the desktop shortcut created by the installer.
By the way, why did the installer create two desktop shortcuts (One without "x64" in the name and one with)?
I have Windows 10, so I use the x64, but just to make sure, the reverb also does not work with the other startup icon.

By the way, what is this ARIA player everybody is talking about?
There was nothing about that in the download instructions.
Or is the desktop shortcut the ARIA player (but it does not say ARIA anywhere)?

Anyway, the Reverb is my main problem here.
Hope you can help,

Cheers,

Waldemar Moes

Hi Waldemar, hopefully you like the sound of the CFX so far and we can get the reverb working for you quickly.

First, make sure you have turned the reverb on after selecting the preset in the Studio tab. There is "Reverb" button in the upper left-hand corner of that window that needs have the red indicator light on to verify this.

Next, make sure to increase the amounts for the Send and Return knobs next to the reverb image. These by default are set at 0. Try this and see if the reverb then responds as you expect.

The ARIA Player is used for other Garritan instruments, and can load the the CFX presets too, but the dedicated CFX Player is recommended for this instrument. And you can use either 64 bit or the 32 bit players that you have on your Desktop, but you should stick with the 64 bit since your Windows system is most likely 64 bit based.

Hi - I have a similar issue. Changing the preset makes no difference in the type of reverb even though the Reverb is on. None of the dials change as you move from one reverb preset to another.

Above you suggest "Next, make sure to increase the amounts for the Send and Return knobs next to the reverb image. These by default are set at 0. Try this and see if the reverb then responds as you expect."

The Send does not exactly default to 0 but if the reverb feature was working, the Decay and Size dials would certainly change if I move from a Jazz Club to, say, a Cathedral. Manually moving the Size and / or Decay makes no change to the sound of the reverb either.

Just installed the lite version and I have the same problem.

Windows 11 .

I have also Keyscape installed on the same computer ssd.

Maybe Keyscape is causing the problem ? I dont know.

STUDIO Reverb presets do not change anything.

On a demo yt film, i could see the red Reverb light go on , as you tab a preset.

I does not happen here.

I can put the red light on and than change the 4 green buttons and so I do get some reverb.

But reverb presets do not work.

Need help

same thing  used as vst in Cubase

Thanks

I have the same issue. Selecting from the reverb preset drop down menu does not change the reverb parameters at all. Does anyone have the solution to this problem? Thanks.

same issue with me, m2 macbook air, logic pro, garritan cfx lite, reverb function dose not work at all after turning on, knobs don't switch at all when you change reverb preset, and no effect.

garritan team has been very passive since apple silicon has been release so long but your cfx piano is still full of bugs, not silicon native, compare to vilabs, it is a full of disappointment about the compatibility.

But anyway the cfx sample sounds really good.

garritan cfx team, do you really test your software or not? it is so obvious that cfx is full of flaw and bugs, not native to apple silicon, but without any update for years long period.

sorry to be trolling here, but I have no confidence to upgrade to the full version from lite even though the sample sounds really good to my ears.

Just here to tell that i'm using on windows 11 Cfx Pro without any issue after a year and after using the lite version during a long time. the reverb work perfecly and is not an issue, just understanding how the reverb section is working with the send and return knob. just running the preset is not enough.

my only complain is the lack of information about a Vst3 release as soon, Cubase from Steinberg will switch to a Vst3 only support. but at "worst", there is the aria player which work in Vs3 fortunatly and fully support the CFX vst2.
