More info needed.

1. Please include pertinent details in your posts, especially if you are a first time poster. Software version (Finale, PrintMusic, Notepad, etc.) and version number (25, 26, 27…) are beneficial. Also, details about your operating system can expedite answers. Consider putting this in your signature line (bottom of your post) to save having to re-enter it each post.

2. Specify the steps you’ve already taken (to solve the problem), so that we can rule out things.

Very often it crashes and pops up a window -  Finale encountered an error and will shut down

Very often but not always?  I had a similar problem lately. It was due to the outdated sound driver. I updated my Realtek sound driver and the issue went away.
