I've tried this in both Finale 26 and 27, both with Big Sur and Monterrey. I can no longer use any of the hotkey functionality in playback except firing playback with the spacebar. It seems as though if you hold down the spacebar, it treats it like it's being repeatedly pressed. So pressing it at all fires playback. Holding it rapidly toggles between play and pause. So [SPACEBAR] + [click in staff] doesn't work, and neither do any of the other combinations of spacebar and other keys. This is an extremely important feature to me to check my work as I'm going. Other wise I've got to keep re-setting the playback measure counter which is a huge pain. Someone please tell me there is a solution. I've been using Finale for 20 years, but this is a deal-breaker for me.

Apologies, I should have said "shortcuts". I'm talking about all of the functions listed in the screenshot below except for the first one.

As an update, yesterday I was using Finale 26 on a brand new MBP that came with Monterrey installed. These functions would not work then.

Today, I upgraded to Finale 27 on my iMac that is running Monterrey. These functions did not work (which is when I posted this message).

Tonight, I downloaded Finale 27 and installed on my new MBP, and lo and behold, these functions work now. I don't know why.

Well, I still can't get the second shortcut to work reliably (Spacebar + click in staff). But the two I primarily use are the last two "scrub" functions.

Back on my 2019 iMac today running Monterrey and Finale 27. I was so surprised it worked on my MBP yesterday that I wanted to reboot and try again on the iMac. No luck, still cannot scrub onscreen music or perform any shortcut with the spacebar other than simply triggering playback.

Just tried resetting Finale preferences. No dice.

Just tried resetting Finale preferences. No dice

Find com.makemusic.finale27.fprf and drag to Trash. This forces 27 to create new Preferences when you start up. If this fixes the issue, empty the trash.

Lately, in many apps and plugins in Big Sur and Monterey, I'm finding that installation doesn't always complete till my Mac is shut down and restarted.
