Finale 2014.5, running on Windows 10.
How many entries should I expect to see in the Shape Library? If I create a new articulation or expression (as a test), I see 81. If I open up a file created 2.5 years ago (not sure what version of Finale this was - is there any property in the file that tells me?), I see 123 in either articulation or expression functions. Has the library size been diminishing as I've upgraded?

The number of shapes, articulations, expressions, chord suffixes, &c. is document specific, not program specific.
If you create a new document as an empty document (= a Document Without Libraries), then you will, in e. g. the Articulation Selection, see no items at all.
You can increase the number (for the specific document), by
- creating new items,
- loading one or more libraries.
You can decrease the number (for the specific document), by
- deleting items.
In Other Words:
The number of items is not a fixed number.
