If I add a hard space using Ctrl-shift or select it from the text tool in Lyrics, I get an underlined parenthesis. This happens in Jazz Text or Jazz Text Extended font. Is there anyway to put a hard space in with this font?

I can confirm the issue. Finale strikes again. According to PopChar, there are hard spaces in both Jazz Text, and Jazz Text Extended. However, neither of them work from PopChar or from the Text menu, nor do they show in Insert Symbols...

 

Do you have the Finale Jazz font? Not Jazz, but Finale Jazz. I think it came with 27. That works properly (on my Mac, at least) when choosing a hard space from the Text menu. If you don't have the font, download the demo of F27. Even after it expires, or you delete it, the fonts will remain.

Do you mean Finale Jazz Text? Finale Jazz looks like it might not be the caligraphy pen font. I installed Finale Jazz Text and it seems to work.
