This has happened before and I just deselect auto-verses and enter them in manually. Perhaps someone knows why this happens.

I have 3 verses of text, and Finale correctly numbers them 1-3 and also includes 4, 5, 6, and those lyric boxes are clearly empty. I entered text into them and deleted them again just to be sure. I can delete verse 1 and I'll have 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Nothing I do seems to clear the last 3 verse numbers.

In case this happens to anyone else, I just found a solution. Simply deleting any text in the lyric box didn't help - even selecting all and deleting. Just used the <type into score> tool, clicked on the last note of the verse and held delete until it reached the beginning. Same thing on each verse, and now those ghost verses are gone.
