My PC did indeed create a restore point right before the Finale update installed...restored and now it is working again.
A system restore hmm...that's one way to do it, I suppose! For now I'm just using my MacBook (which has a v27 that is not updated) to print the pdfs as a workaround. I don't know if I have a rest...
Finale prints to my printer without problems so far...just pdf.
