I tried a bunch of other fonts and it only happens with Maestro...there seems to be something wrong with my installed copy of Maestro. I don't think this is a bug but I'll leave it here in case any...
Interestingly, the problem does not happen when I set the default font to "Engraver Font Set" instead of "Maestro".
Do you happen also to have Finale 27 installed? Because if you do, your fonts might be different. Just thinking of ways our systems might be different other than OS version; I do not have Finale 27...
