Yes, but they will open in F26. You may have to reset the “Open With...” if you try to open them with a double-click, but opening from within Finale should be fine.
Let’s start here: Open the default document template. Do the chords work properly? If they do, then you can make the changes you want, and save that as a template.
What version of Finale are you downloading? If you have any virus checking software, try turning it off for the download.
