It seems to me that this problem came up with a Mac update, rather than a Finale update.
In Finale, polychords (one chord over another) are written as stacked, rather than slashed or side-by-side. If you do a Google search, you will find a number of comments on how to do it.
Best advice I can give is plug it in and try it. You won’t hurt anything.
