Glad you found it. I was working from memory, which is always suspect! Did that help any?
Are you using Simple Entry? Try going to the Simple menu, and in Simple Entry Options, choose Use Simple Entry Cursor. That should cause the cursor to move ahead, after entering the note.
As Jeff says, it’s listed in the staff styles as One-bar Repeat.
Just as a check, have you tried restarting? Deleting the prefs? Setting up a new user account, with only Finale loaded on it?
Adrian is correct, in that a screen shot will help. In the meantime, this is almost always a case of not being in the correct layer, when you add the lyrics.
Thanks for that, Peter. But I’m still curious as to who ever thought this was better than having it work this way out of the box.
Just the other way around! Choose the Graphics tool, and from the Graphics menu, choose Export Pages.
And is the page size correct in the Print Setup? Also, rather than saving the PDF from within Finale, try exporting it as a graphic, in PDF format. Is that any better?
Select the part of the score that’s in question. Then, the utilities should be visible.
Make sure that the key signature for the first part only applies to the needed measures. and then the second key sig is also properly assigned. That would be in the Key Signature dialogue box.
