You can also break beams with the simple entry tool. But as Bruce says, it's a pain if you have a whole score to do.

Once entered, you can drag it to any position. The dotted line will show you as it jumps from beat to beat.

Install the demo, and find out.

Go to Google, and search “uninstall Finale on Mac”

Just a wild guess here. The demo version of Finale doesn’t include the Garritan sounds or the software to use them. (Is that what a DSL or a VST is?) Anyway, that may be why they won’t play nicely ...

Have you restarted the computer?

It’s a known issue with F27. https://makemusic.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4403373845655-Certain-Expressions-and-Articulations-Not-Playing-Back-in-Finale-v27-0

I don’t think combining the tools is a way to go. I would do the tuplet first, and then just mouse in the grace notes.

- Finale 27 problems, case #493 - Update Layout no longer seems to work
Jeff, Are you doing a Space Music (CMD-4) first? In my experience, the Space Music is what adjusts the crunches; Update Layout is more of an “under the radar” thing.

If they are screenshots of your own work, I don’t see any problem with it.
