In Special Tools, there's a Tie tool. You can adjust the tie's size, shape, placement, etc... with this tool.

You need to adjust your settings with the page layout tool. I would select systems 2 thru 8 and make the distance between systems smaller.

My only suggestion is to duplicate the articulation and change the playback definition to be different from the other. You will end up with 2 visually identical articulations though.
