Of course it crashes in Safe mode. Only apps supplied by Apple can be expected not to. Is there a crash log? If so, you need to attach it to a support request so that someone can figure this out....

From the crash report, it appears you are not running the last version of Finale 2011. It should read, 2011c.r1 when you click on About Finale. If not, install the updater. https://store.makemusic....
