Finale is not that smart. You have to keep control on when a word is completed. Is it a single syllable word or not ? When you type "cat", is it going to be cat or cat-fish, wall or wall-pa-per ? F...
If you need an hyphen between the syllables of a word, use Type into Score (Lyrics menu), enter the syllable and type... an hyphen (on your computer keyboard). That will move the cursor to the next...
