Don't delete the groups. If you want to hide the group name, it can be done via Staff menu -> Groups and Brackets -> Edit. In the window that appears, uncheck "Show Group Name". Do it for each group.

Your posts have been read, but I couldn't think of a solution to this abnormal behavior. Have you tried to reset your preferences (Via the Preferences of the program) ?

Graphics tool. Double click to draw a rectangle. In the menu, select Export Selection and select a file type (pdf is fine). Import the image into Word.
