I concur I regularly use the two together. Did you reassign playback sounds before trying to use NP4? Do that first then go into Score Manager.

Ben, Have a look at the plug-in JW Space Empty Rest. It checks and turns off update for you when you use it and makes the rest spacing look more pleasing. It comes included with Finale 27.
I agree you are another victim of Mac OS compatibly your only course is to upgrade to 27.
