The file extension is musx for both. That is the key. However you may encounter some older versions of Finale that can not open musx files no matter whether they were from a Mac or PC.

Louis, Do you have a clear path the the Finale>temp folder? If not make sure it is there. If you create it manually you must tell Finale where it is. Edit>Preferences> Folders
