Does your first staff have a sound assigned in the Aria player? Has it inadvertently been muted?
Use Human Playback and set a finishing tempo (hidden, if you wish) when you want the accel. or rit.to stop. Don't bother using the older, graphical playback slope.
Did you download the authorization "card" and drag the image onto your Aria Player?

I know there is a setting in Human Playback that automatically slows before a fermata. It can be turned off if you want--as I did.
