- Issues with dotted notes not registering on playback or MIDI. Also issues now with slides which I didn't have before
If you are using chords (I know, unlikely) be sure the chords are not assigned to the same instrument/MIDI channel as the melodic instrument they are coupled with.

You should file a support request for this. These are not typical problems with Finale 2014.5 (at least not on Windows).

@Mike Campbell I suspect it is because the codes are specific to Garritan rather than Finale.

It looks like a font problem. Check your (music) font assignments to make sure Finale is using an identifiable music font.
