The current work-around to transfer legacy documents to SMuFL in v27 is to export the file via XML and import it into a new v27 file set up for SMuFL.
One could try exporting the file as XML and then importing it into a new document.

If you created a Custom Line, you need to choose the custom line tool (by clicking on it rather than by CTRL+Clicking on it as you did when you created the custom line.
I do not believe that question has been addressed yet. In other words, I do not believe Finale has commented on this vis a vis Finale 27.
