Windows 7 Pro (64-bit)

Newest Version of Finale (25?, 2014.5? - just downloaded the newest demo)

Hello everyone, I've been using Finale 2012 since it was released and wanted to try the demo version of the newest Finale to see the changes and know if it would be worth upgrading to.  It might be great, but all of my old scores created in 2012 are not displaying right.  The legato marks, dynamics, articulations, ties, are displaying way way above the notes where they should be.  Is there any way to fix this?  Thanks so much for your input.

My first guess would be that the culprit is missing FAN files for some of the fonts used in your documents.

I suggest that you compare the Font Annotation folder for Finale 2012 with the Font Annotation folder for Finale v25.

If you in the 2012 folder can see some FAN files that are not in the v25 folder, then copy them over.

I'll give it a shot.  Thanks so much for such a quick response.

No luck unfortunately.  I think it might be because I have Finale 2012 still installed.  I did try installing the New Finale as an Admin as they suggest but still doesn't work quite right.

Might not be the right time to upgrade anyway.  The new finale only works on 64-bit and my other computer at the office runs 32 which means I can't use it on that computer anymore.  Maybe next year.  Thanks for all the help.

You can create Font Annotation files automatically for ALL the fonts that Finale sees in the current document.

Finale menu>Preferences... press Edit. Click "Font Annotation". Click "Auto Annotate All". Done.

This is much preferred to copying over FAN files, unless you have edited them for some reason. I haven't edited any of mine.
