Hi all,

I use Nitro Pro 10 to export PDFs from Finale 2014.5, but I noticed that there is always an x added at the end of the title in default part names (Ex. "Cat Food Boogiex - Contrabass Flute).

Is there a way to fix this so the file names don't include the extra x? In the meantime, I've written a Windows Powershell command to rename files. Just change the directory to the target folder that contains your parts.

Once you're in the right directory, use this command line:

dir | rename-item -NewName {$_.name -replace "x -", " -"}

It gets rid of the Xes, but I"m not sure why they're there in the first place! :) This forum has helped me out so much with every Finale question I've had, so I hoped I could contribute something that would help someone out.

Step 1: is it a Finale or Nirro Pro issue?

If you run the Finale 25 demo, does it do the same?

I will try that and report back, thanks Mike!

It happens. It doesn't hurt anything. I suggest you live with it.

(It has to do with the change from .mus to musx. The routine that zaps the three-character "mus" was not change to zap the fourth character of "musx." MM knows about it but has not fixed it, probably because they have more important things to fix.)
