Smart word extension ending

Windows 7 professional and finale version 26.

The smart word extension tool draws the underline so that it ends (on an imaginary vertical line) right below the the end (meaning the furthest right side) of the final note of the word extension (or sometimes a little after the note). I would like to get it to end right below the center of the final note of the word extension. Is that possible?

I don't think there's a setting for it, because it's not standard practice, but you can certainly adjust them all manually. If you have TG Tools, you can adjust how far the extension goes beyond the last note: it may be possible to set a negative value.
