I need a library that contains every version I have ever used of a chord type, but all the versions are selectable in any key (12 versions of every chord). So is there a make music tutorial on building a library?
… every version I have ever used of a chord type …
… in any key …
Just to make things clear:
a) By “chord type” you mean e. g. the chord type ”major seventh“ - right?
b) By “version” you mean different chord suffixes that all mean the same chord type, like e. g. “maj7”, “ma7”, “Δ7” &c. - right?
c) By “any key” you mean different roots in front of the suffix, like e. g. AΔ7, B♭Δ7, BΔ7, CΔ7, &c. - right?
A chord library does not contain chord roots = c).
Chord roots are not saved in a library.
In Other Words: you can not save chord roots as a library.
In the Chord menu there is a sub-menu where you can choose between 8 different Chord Styles (= styles for the chord roots).
To add to Peter's remarks, you can create your own suffixes (what you call "type", I imagine) and save them as a library, which can be loaded in your documents, templates,...
The fastest way is to start with an existing suffix library, duplicate a suffix that is close to what you want and modify it.
P.S. : please specify your setup (MacOS ? version ? Windows ? version ? version of Finale, etc...) in your profile. This could help to make additional suggestions.
