Is there any convenient way to put pedal on and off marks for piano? Or I have to make pedal marks for each bar anyway? I am using Finale 2012. If I upgrade it, any difference?
If the pedaling is similar or there is a repeated pattern to it, you can do the first few measures and write simile. Introduce new pedal marks where the pattern changes.
If you are using standard pedaling technique, just write con pedale or with sustain, with pedal, etc. at the beginning of the piece. Passages without pedal, write senza ped.
… In "Edit Filter" choosing "Markings" then copy and paste it but result is only empty measure. Maybe I did something wrong. Specifically which item should I choose in the "Edit Filter"? …
What type of “Finale items” are your pedal marks?
Are they entered with the Expression Tool (as expressions)?
Are they entered with the Smart Shape Tool (as smart shapes)?
Are they entered with the Text Tool (as text blocks, assigned to measures)?
In the dialog box Edit Filter, select the item(s) you need to copy.
Thank you, Mr. Thomsen.
I use "Articulations" and it works fine with MIDI playback.
Tried the "Edit Filter" with mark on "Articulations" and copy and paste, it copies nothing.
I guess that the Articulations would copy only with the notes.
If I check "Articulations" and "Notes and Rests" in the "Edit Filter", copy and paste work fine with pedal marks.
Maybe I should try "Expressions" instead while some further tweaking necessary to make it work with MIDI playback.
Thank you again for your kind advice.
