I have created charts on my Finale 25. I've sent the files in finale format to my partner. He can't open the files with his Finale 2012 software. How can he open the files?

Export them in the MusicXML format, he'll be able to import them.

If you're going to be sending charts back and forth, then you should both use the same Finale version. If you're sending the files to him only once, then instead of using the xml command, in Finale 25, use File/Export/2012 format.  Some information will not make the transition down to 2012 so proof the file after exporting to 2012.

Jeffrey is right, Finale 25 and 26 can export files in the 2012 format, and this method will probably be even better than exporting in MusicXML. I usually attach a pdf version of the original file, to be able to verify the fidelity of the conversion.
