Has anyone ever tried to do this? I have a long file from a pianist, and the file is 120bpm but the tempo is really 60. So, on import, instead of 1 measure of 60bpm music, I get two bars of 120bpm for what is supposed to be just 1 measure. It's like it is in 4/2, except there's, of course, a bar line every 4 quarter notes.
The music was recorded at 120, but they were really playing at 60. SO, everything is twice as long. Is there anyway to re-configure the meter so that 8 beats of quarter notes becomes 8 eighth notes and turns into 1 measure. This is a loooong file, and I can't go back to the original and change it. I hope I am making sense. I have hundreds of measures in the wrong tempo resulting in 2 measures of notation for what is really 1 measure.
I wonder if I can make it be 4/2 time, and then Finale dumps the bar lines. I'm hoping I don't have to re-write all of this. Maybe it's a cut and paste from one doc to the next.
Let me know if anyone has any ideas. I can't find anything in the manuals that even makes a feint at this.
