I have a piece of music with a long 1st ending---7 measures---the bracket only starts at the beginning---and then reappears final measure----I would like the 1st ending bracket to extend all the way to the repeat....

 

Is this possible?

Double-click on the 1st ending bracket. Handles will appear. Grab the right-most handle, and drag. If it spans two systems, use the line tool to fill in.

In case you may later re-arrange the layout, use only the Smart Shape Tool’s sub-tool Custom Line Tool (= do not drag the repeat ending handles).

Make sure that the smart line is Horizontal (use the context menu).

In that way the layout will always work, no matter how you re-arrange the layout.

The ending can span as many systems as needed, and the smart line will extend all the way over the ending.

That is one of the convenient properties of the Custom Line Tool.

Yes, there is a way to fix this manually, but we shouldn't have to.
