After having to take a couple of years off due to some health issues, I have reinstalled PrintMusic 2014. While I insured the "automatically update" option is checked, I tried clicking the "Check for update" option, but got an error message "An error occurred in retrieving update information; are you connected to the internet?"

Yes, my software is registered, and yes, I'm connected to the internet (that's how I re-registered, on the internet). 

I am running Windows 10 as my OS. Before my "break" I was using Windows 8. 

The "About" option says my version is 2014a.v855. 

Is there a more recent version?

2014 is the last Windows version. I doubt there will be another one.

I get that, it's the v855 that I'm wondering about...have there been any updates to the 2014 version, not upgrades to a newer version (there is a difference!) 😊

The only upgrade to PM 2014 was 2014.5, a free upgrade. In your User Account. it will still show as 2014 but, when you download and open, it will do so as 2014.5. There is no way to download the earlier version from MakeMusic that I know.

 

2014.5 does not overwrite 2014 so, if you have both, best to change the file name so that you know the difference. This caused a lot of confusion a few years ago.

 

This applies to Finale 2014/2014.5 also.
