Mod wheel behavior

I've had GPO4 for a long time and don't use it because, as I'm reminded every time I try to, the volume of any loaded sound falls to zero as soon as I move then release the mod wheel y-axis on my controller. How do I change this behavior, just to get out of the starting blocks? -- W10

I just bought GIO today and am having this same issue... Aria Player shows the mod wheel at max setting when I first load a patch. But when I move and then let the mod wheel (well, joystick on this MIDI controller) go back to the neutral position, Aria Player sets the mod wheel to 0. Ideally, it would be at 50% in neutral so I can raise or lower it. I'm using the default GM mode, but switching to GPO mode didn't help.

Can anyone offer a hint? Thank you!

Same problem with Instant Orchestra.....for almost all timbres (excluding those that require the use of the modulation wheel) in order to listen to the sound I have to rotate the modulation wheel to the maximum, keeping it at the minimum no sound comes out.Tried with different keyboards and found the same problem.
