I created rehearsal marks using the Expression menu then checked the "hide measure numbers" box.

When editing or extracting parts, the measure numbers still appear along with the rehearsal marks.

The culprit could be

Measure menu > Show Measure Numbers

This command will override a rehearsal mark expression.

 

Something to try:

 

Measure Tool.

Select the “pesky” measure.

Measure menu > Restore Measure Number Defaults
