Then you will need to downgrade to the older OS, I suspect. Good luck.
Any time you do a "save as" you should be seeing a file/save dialogue asking for a file name and location. Make sure that the location is correct.
Everything I can find on the web suggests that 2008 is not compatible with windows 10. It is no longer supported by MM, either. You might be due for an upgrade.

The only way I can find would be to use an invisible barline, and then replace the barline with an expression in the other three parts.

If you don't want to reboot (although I think it's better) you can try logging out of your account, and back in.

You said "when you print." Do they show up correctly on screen? How about in a PDF? (I can't check it, because I have an expired demo version.)
