This article contains instructions for removing Garritan libraries from your computer. This article does not contain steps for uninstalling the Garritan instruments that come with Finale. To start, please choose your operating system below, then the library you would like to uninstall.

Uninstalling CFX Concert Grand from your Windows computer

To remove CFX Concert Grand from your computer, please first close any applications that you have open (except this web browser) then follow the steps below to remove the library's components.

 

 

  1. Hold down the WINDOWS key on your computer keyboard and press the letter R at the same time to open the Run dialog box.
  2. Type in: 
    appwiz.cpl
  3. Click OK; the Programs and Features window appears.
  4. Locate Garritan CFX Concert Grand [your version number] in the list; right-click it and choose Uninstall.
  5. You will receive a message saying the uninstall is complete, click OK to close it.
  6. Reopen the Run dialog box (WINDOWS+R).
  7. Type in: 
    C:\Program Files\Garritan
  8. Locate the CFX Concert Grand folder and delete it (right-click the folder > Delete).
  9. Open the Run dialog box again.
  10. Type in: 
    %appdata%\Garritan
  11. Locate the CFX Concert Grand folder and delete it.
  12. Empty the Recycle Bin.
  13. Restart your computer.

Uninstalling CFX Lite from your Windows computer

To remove CFX Lite from your computer, please first close any applications that you have open (except this web browser) then follow the steps below to remove the library's components.

 

  1. Hold down the WINDOWS key on your computer keyboard and press the letter R at the same time to open the Run dialog box.
  2. Type in: 
    appwiz.cpl
  3. Click OK; the Programs and Features window appears.
  4. Locate Garritan CFX Lite [your version number] in the list; right-click it and choose Uninstall.
  5. You will receive a message saying the uninstall is complete, click OK to close it.
  6. Reopen the Run dialog box (WINDOWS+R).
  7. Type in: 
    C:\Program Files\Garritan
  8. Locate the CFX Lite folder and delete it (right-click the folder > Delete).
  9. Open the Run dialog box again.
  10. Type in: 
    %appdata%\Garritan
  11. Locate the CFX Lite folder and delete it.
  12. Empty the Recycle Bin.
  13. Restart your computer.

To remove Personal Orchestra 5 from your computer, please first close any applications that you have open (except this web browser) then follow the steps below to remove the library's components.

  8. Locate the Personal Orchestra 5 folder and delete it (right-click the folder > Delete).

  12. Empty the Recycle Bin.
  13. Restart your computer.

To remove Instant Orchestra from your computer, please first close any applications that you have open (except this web browser) then follow the steps below to remove the library's components.

  3. Locate the file called unins000.exe (that's the uninstaller); double-click it to run it.

  6. Type in: 
    C:\Program Files\Garritan
  7. Locate the Instant Orchestra folder and delete it (right-click the folder > Delete).
  8. Open the Run dialog box again.
  9. Type in: 
    %appdata%\Garritan
  10. Locate the Instant Orchestra folder and delete it.
  11. Empty the Recycle Bin.
  12. Restart your computer.

To remove Jazz & Big Band 3 from your computer, please first close any applications that you have open (except this web browser) then follow the steps below to remove the library's components.

  2. Type in:

  4. Locate Garritan Jazz and Big Band 3 [your sub-version number] in the list; right-click it and choose Uninstall.
  5. You will receive a message saying the uninstall is complete, click OK to close it.
  6. Reopen the Run dialog box (WINDOWS+R).
  7. Type in: 
    C:\Program Files\Garritan
  8. Locate the Jazz and Big Band 3 folder and delete it (right-click the folder > Delete).
  9. Open the Run dialog box again.
  10. Type in: 
    %appdata%\Garritan
  11. Locate the Jazz and Big Band 3 folder and delete it.
  12. Empty the Recycle Bin.
  13. Restart your computer.

  8. Locate the Concert and Marching Band 2 folder and delete it (right-click the folder and choose Delete).
  9. Empty the Recycle Bin.
  10. Restart your computer.

To remove World Instruments from your computer, please first close any applications that you have open (except this web browser) then follow the steps below to remove the library's components.

  4. Locate Garritan World Instruments 0.003 in the list; right-click it and choose Uninstall.
  5. You will receive a message saying the uninstall is complete, click OK to close it.
  6. Reopen the Run dialog box (WINDOWS+R).
  7. Type in: 
    %appdata%\Garritan
  8. Locate the World Instruments folder and delete it (right-click the folder and choose Delete).
  9. Empty the Recycle Bin.
  10. Restart your computer.

Uninstalling Classic Pipe Organs from your Windows computer

To remove Classic Pipe Organs from your computer, please first close any applications that you have open (except this web browser) then follow the steps below to remove the library's components.

  2. Type in: 
    C:\Program Files\Garritan\Classic Pipe Organs
  3. Locate the file called unins000.exe (that's the uninstaller); double-click it to run it.
  4. You will receive a message saying the uninstall is complete, click OK to close it.
  5. Reopen the Run dialog box (WINDOWS+R).
  6. Type in: 
    C:\Program Files\Garritan
  7. Locate the Classic Pipe Organs folder and delete it (right-click the folder > Delete).
  8. Open the Run dialog box again.
  9. Type in: 
    %appdata%\Garritan
  10. Locate the Classic Pipe Organs folder and delete it.
  11. Empty the Recycle Bin.
  12. Restart your computer.

  10. Locate the Harps folder and delete it.
  11. Empty the Recycle Bin.
  12. Restart your computer.

To remove CFX Concert Grand, please first close any applications that you have open (except this web browser) then follow the steps below to remove the library's components.

 

  1. Click your desktop background to activate Finder.
  2. Use the keyboard shortcut SHIFT+COMMAND+G to open the Go To Folder dialog box. (You can also use the menu items Go > Go To Folder).
  3. Type in: 
    /Library/Application Support/Garritan
  4. Press RETURN.
  5. Move the CFX Concert Grand folder from the window that appears to the Trash.
  6. Use SHIFT+COMMAND+G to open the Go To Folder dialog box.
  7. Type in: 
    ~/Library/Application Support/Garritan
  8. Please be sure that the tilde symbol (~) is included in the beginning of the directory and then press RETURN.
  9. Move the CFX Concert Grand folder from this folder window to the Trash.
  10. Use SHIFT+COMMAND+G to open the Go To Folder dialog box again.
  11. Type in: 
    /Users/Shared
  12. Press RETURN.
  13. Locate the CFX_Samples folder in the window that appears and move it to the Trash.
  14. Open the Go To Folder dialog box again.
  15. Type in: 
    /Library/Preferences
  16. Press RETURN.
  17. Move the com.Garritan.CFX Concert Grand.plist file to the Trash.
  18. Open the Go To Folder dialog box again.
  19. Type in: 
    ~/Library/Preferences
  20. Make sure the tilde symbol (~) is included at the beginning of the directory and press RETURN.
  21. Move the com.Garritan.CFX Concert GrandSA.plist file to the Trash.
  22. Last but not least, use SHIFT+COMMAND+A to open the Applications folder.
  23. Move the CFX Concert Grand application to the Trash. Move any dock icons for CFX Concert Grand to the Trash as well.
  24. Empty the Trash.
  25. Restart your computer.

  9. Move the CFX Lite folder from this folder window to the Trash.
  10. Use SHIFT+COMMAND+G to open the Go To Folder dialog box again.
  11. Type in: 
    /Users/Shared
  12. Press RETURN.
  13. Locate the CFXLite_Samples folder in the window that appears and move it to the Trash.
  14. Open the Go To Folder dialog box again.
  15. Type in: 
    /Library/Preferences
  16. Press RETURN.
  17. Move the com.Garritan.CFX Lite.plist file to the Trash.
  18. Open the Go To Folder dialog box again.
  19. Type in: 
    ~/Library/Preferences
  20. Make sure the tilde symbol (~) is included at the beginning of the directory and press RETURN.
  21. Move the com.Garritan.CFX Lite.plist and com.Garritan.CFX LiteSA.plist files to the Trash.
  22. Last but not least, use SHIFT+COMMAND+A to open the Applications folder.
  23. Move the CFX Lite application to the Trash. Move any dock icons for CFX Lite to the Trash as well.
  24. Empty the Trash.
  25. Restart your computer.

  17. Move the com.Garritan.Personal Orchestra 5.plist file to the Trash.
  18. Open the Go To Folder dialog box again.
  19. Type in: 
    ~/Library/Preferences

Uninstalling Personal Orchestra 4 from your Mac

To remove Personal Orchestra 4 from your Mac, please first close any applications that you have open (except this web browser) then follow the steps below to remove the library's components.

  1. Click your desktop background to activate Finder.
  2. Use the keyboard shortcut SHIFT+COMMAND+A or choose the menu item Go > Applications to open the Applications folder.
  3. Locate the Garritan Personal Orchestra 4 folder and move it to the Trash.
  4. Use the keyboard shortcut SHIFT+COMMAND+G (or Go > Go To Folder) to open the Go To Folder dialog box.
  5. Type in: 
    ~/Library/Application Support/Garritan
  6. Make sure that the tilde symbol (~) is located at the beginning of the directory and press RETURN.
  7. Locate the Personal Orchestra 4 folder and move it to the Trash.
  8. Open the Go To Folder dialog box again (SHIFT+COMMAND+G).
  9. Type in: 
    /Library/Preferences
  10. Press RETURN.
  11. Locate the com.Garritan.Personal Orchestra 4.plist file and move it to the Trash.
  12. Open the Go To Folder dialog box again (SHIFT+COMMAND+G).
  13. Type in: 
    ~/Library/Preferences
  14. Make sure that the tilde symbol (~) is included at the beginning of the directory and press RETURN.
  15. Locate the com.Garritan.Personal Orchestra 4.plist file and move it to the Trash.
  16. Empty the Trash.
  17. Restart your computer.
